Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of "Who were you in past life?" by Hemisoft. It popped up on Google Play as a free download—no registration required, just install and launch. The app claims to reveal your past identities through some kind of quiz or personality check. After installing it, my first impression was pretty rough. The interface feels cluttered, almost like a generic template, and there are ads right off the bat. It's not a polished experience, more like something thrown together quickly.

Actually using the app is fairly straightforward, if a bit odd. You answer a series of questions about your habits, fears, and random preferences. The whole thing takes maybe five minutes. There's no onboarding tutorial or explanation, so you just tap away. Some questions feel vaguely spiritual, others are just weird—like asking about your favorite ancient weapon. Once you finish, the app spits out a result, like "you were a philosopher in ancient Greece." The screen is just text on a plain background. It works, but the whole flow feels disjointed, and I kept getting interrupted by pop-up ads during the quiz.

After a few tries, I uninstalled it. I could see someone who's casually curious about reincarnation or astrology getting a kick out of this for five minutes. But there are plenty of similar novelty quiz apps—like "Past Life Regression" or "Soul Memory Quiz"—that feel more polished and less ad-heavy. This one feels like a quick cash grab with no real depth. The results are generic, and the app doesn't offer any history or sharing features. It's not harmful, just forgettable. If you want a silly distraction on the bus, sure. But don't expect anything meaningful.

features

  • 😕 The main "feature" is a questionnaire that claims to reveal past lives. Answer ten or so questions and get a one-sentence result like "you were a knight." Compared to other apps like "Past Life Regression," which at least offers themed categories (e.g., famous figures or historical periods), this one feels shallow. The questions are generic and the output is just a random line of text with no explanation.
  • 😕 There's no history or save feature. If you close the app, your result disappears forever. Other similar apps like "Soul Memory Quiz" let you bookmark or share results. Here, you have to screenshot it yourself if you want to keep it. That's a basic miss for a 2023 app.
  • 😕 Ads are everywhere. A full-screen ad pops up after every 2-3 questions, plus a banner at the bottom. Some apps like "Past Life Tarot" do have ads, but they're less intrusive. Here, it ruins any sense of immersion. You barely finish a thought before being pushed to a mobile game ad.
  • 😕 No customization or extra content. The result is just text. No images, no audio, no further reading. "What was my past life?" at least gives you a short paragraph per result. This app is bare bones.

pros

  • ❤️ It's completely free to download and use. No in-app purchases or subscriptions. Many similar apps, like "Past Life Regression," lock interesting results behind a paywall. Here, you get the full experience without spending a cent.
  • ❤️ The quiz is short and sweet. It only takes a few minutes to complete. For someone with a short attention span, that's a plus. "Past Life Tarot" takes longer because it asks more detailed questions. This one respects your time.
  • ❤️ No account or personal info needed. You don't have to register or share your email. That's a big plus for privacy-conscious users. Apps like "Soul Memory Quiz" sometimes ask for a birth date or gender, which feels unnecessary.

cons

  • 😠 The results feel lazy and generic. After five different runs, I got variations of "you were a peasant" or "you were a monk." There's no depth or personality. "Past Life Regression" gives you a full story with names and locations. This app just tosses out a sentence and calls it a day.
  • 😠 Too many ads. I'm used to some ads in free apps, but this one is aggressive. A 15-second video ad pops up after every 2-3 questions. It breaks the flow completely. "Soul Memory Quiz" has ads too, but they're less frequent and better placed.
  • 😠 No replay value. Once you get your result, there's nothing else to do. No achievements, no sharing your past life with friends, no hint system. "What was my past life?" at least lets you compare results with other users. This app is just a one-and-done experience.
